At Antaeus, we believe mastering the acting challenges of great classics takes a lifetime. And that the desire to take on these challenges is central to achieving great acting. Here, we're constantly putting young artists-in-training together with seasoned professionals – in the classroom, in readings, workshops and in full productions -- so that skills, work ethics and inspiration are not just taught but 'passed down.'

Education and Outreach programs bring our community to the theatre and the theatre to our community. Focusing intensely on students, educators and a passionate audience, ensemble members work to make classical text accessible, fun and relevant in our modern lives. We also partner with other arts organizations in the facilitation of new work with young people. Our programs exist in schools, alternative learning centers, living rooms, and around our very own, rather large, library table.

Our theatre collection includes
6500 single-play and collected-works editions, as well as hundreds of drama anthologies, theater history, biographies and periodicals, all currently accessible to our Company members and students. We hope to open our library to the public, expand it to include an extensive collection of plays on video tape and DVD, and add a viewing facility that allows Actors' Equity protected viewing of a wide range of theater productions for theater students and professionals. A much-needed archive of Los Angeles theatrical history and ephemera.
