The NOHO THEATRE & ARTS FESTIVAL, with Lankershim Boulevard closed off -- looking south from Weddington towards the Academy Building.

The ANTAEUS TENT, just north of the El Portal Theatre on Weddington, where we served as a Host Company for four other groups, and presented two performances of our own piece,

ROBIN, POLISHED BY LOVE.

ANNE McNAUGHTON womans the Antaeus display booth, building our mailing list a name at a time.

ALICIA WOLLERTON -- not only a fine actor but she plays the damn accordion!

LUCINDA THE WITCH decides to jilt the Mighty Merlin and do all she can to win the love of the simple country lad, ROBIN, who couldn't be less interested in her.

LUCINDA tries civilizing ROBIN with dancing lessons, plies him with song and dancing girls, but nothing seems to interest the silly boy. He's driving her crazy, but she vows that with the power of her sorcery and the help of her aide TRIVET, she will somehow make ROBIN love her.

Then one day, during a walk in the meadow, ROBIN meets SYLVIA and falls instantly in love -- but when she learns he lives with the evil LUCINDA, she bemoans her bad luck. How can they ever be happy together?

Against the advice of TRIVET, the evil LUCINDA calls forth DEMONS to capture the girl ROBIN loves. LUCINDA threatens to kill both lovers unless SYLVIA convinces ROBIN she doesn't really love him.

Okay, so to make a long story short (only it's not actually all that long), TRIVET, still loyal to Merlin the Magnificent and wanting to foil LUCINDA for his sake, tells ROBIN and SYLVIA that if they pretend to do LUCINDA'S will and win her trust, ROBIN can get close enough to steal her MAGIC WAND and thus all her power.

So that's what they do...

The MAGIC WAND in their possession, SYLVIA and ROBIN are now the masters of all they survey. ROBIN chooses to be kind to LUCINDA, since compassion is a greater grace than revenge, and he and SYLVIA vow to make themselves a kingdom and live...

...HAPPILY EVER AFTER!
